We’ve made it easy for you to receive the help you need.
If you have a life threatening medical emergency, please call 999 or go to A&E.
The easiest way to make an appointment is to click the button opposite to request an appointment. Using our Patient Triage Service you will get a response within 3 working days. You do not need to call us about this unless you’ve not heard anything within this timeframe.
Please note - you may be offered an appointment with a member of the wider healthcare team. See our home page for more information on the services available.
Online consultations are available from 7:30am Monday to Friday.
Appointments.
Booking an appointment at Winyates Health Centre
How to book an appointment.
All consultations are by appointment only at Winyates Health Centre.
We have text reminders for all appointments, so you’ll receive a message before your appointment to remind you, however we suggest you still keep a note of when your booked appointments are scheduled!
Booking Online - Patient Triage
We have the option for patients to book consultations online - simply click the ‘Request an appointment’ button above to book an appointment for a consultation. When you complete the online form, a member of the team will triage and signpost your request. You will then receive an outcome within 3 working days. This service is available from 7:30am on weekdays. Please fill in a separate triage form for each medical problem to enable our team to triage this effectively.
Booking via Phone
The preferred option to book an appointment is via Patient Triage however if you’d like to book an appointment on the telephone, please click the button above or call us on 01527 513888. The Healthcare Navigation Team will ask some questions on behalf of the GP before booking you an appointment, as it may be more appropriate for them to refer you to a different service, such as urgent care or A&E. This is all based on the GPs advice and guidance, so please be patient with our team! If all appointments are fully booked, our team will ask you to complete an online consultation form. If you are unable to do this, they will complete this for you and you will be contacted within 3 working days which saves you the hassle of having to call back.
We also offer telephone consultations. This is usually for general medical advice where your problem may be resolved by getting guidance from a trusted source. Please let our healthcare navigator know if you would prefer a telephone or face to face consultation.
Extended Access
We provide a number of hours each week early morning, evenings and Saturdays. You can book these appointments via Patient Triage or via the receptionist. We open these appointments at the end of every month for the following month.
Home Visits and Telephone Advice.
Home Visits
Home visits are available for patients who are housebound. All home visits will be organised by a clinician, with more serious or urgent visits taking priority. If possible, please call the Surgery on 01527 513888 before 11:30am if you require a home visit, to give the clinician time to plan the visits.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
Telephone Advice
Telephone advice is accessible by contacting our Reception on 01527 513888 and asking for telephone advice from a GP or Practice Nurse, after which someone will be in touch to give you advice over the phone.
Cancellations.
Please always let us know if you don’t wish to take up your appointment. Even if it is at the last minute, we can always fill it. We understand that you may now feel better or something else has cropped up and we are happy to rearrange… But please tell us!
You can cancel by calling 01527 513888 or by logging in to your preferred online service (such as the NHS App). Please click the relevant button below to cancel your appointment.
Please note that we do record all incidences of not turning up, and we will be in touch if you miss an appointment. We do reserve the right to ask you to leave the practice list if you won’t help us to help you by keeping to your appointments - as missed appointments cost the NHS money and make it harder for the rest of our local community to access appointments with us.
We offer a text reminder service that will alert you the day before your appointment.
